Jazz Dance Classes
Jazz dance classes for ages 7 - 11 years
What is Jazz Dance?
Jazz Dance is a combination of many styles of dance from street dance, musical theatre and other contemporary dance styles.
Creativity, coordination and fitness
In FirstSteps jazz dance classes, students learn the basic technique of Jazz Dance as well as performance skills.
Jazz Dance introduces students to various dance styles which improves fitness, coordination and flexibility. Students learn fun combinations of leaps, turns, isolations and floor work. While Jazz Dance allows for freedom of movement, the technique requires students to learn a jazz vocabulary to perform different dance styles with confidence.
Jazz gives students an opportunity to dance to popular music and develop their own personality. Jazz chorography routines are a feature of the class and students are encouraged to get creative and choreograph too.
When and where do the classes take place?
Our Jazz dance classes take place at Alexandra Palace every Tuesday from 4:45pm to 5:30pm. You can see more information on our location here.
